Antwerp: Mdouchi to represent CD&V

Said Mdaouchi, president of the mosque union Umiva, will be up for the local elections in Antwerp for CD&V. Mdouchi was formerly in the news in 2003 when he was arrested in Israel on charges of terrorism and espionage, for supposedly financing Palestinian terrorists. According to Marc Van Peel, head of the party list there is no question here, "If even the Mossad decides to let you free, then you are truly innocent. We did not doubt for a moment giving him a place on our list."
